Superintendent
Overview
As a Superintendent, Andrew coordinates with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors to achieve client goals and meet project requirements. He focuses on budgeting appropriately, communicating frequently and effectively with all project team members, maintaining project schedules, and creating a safe job site. Andrew’s education and experience allow him to directly impact ReArch’s quality assurance process by identifying potential operational challenges and creating work processes to avoid or resolve them.
Experience
Andrew previously operated his own business, Foothills Construction, based in Jericho, Vermont, while also working for New Leaf Design as a production manager. His duties involved project oversight and crew management. During his time at New Leaf, Andrew worked extensively in AutoCAD to create floor plans and elevations for use in conceptual visualization, allowing him to develop a deeper understanding of the design process. At ReArch, Andrew has utilized his education to become a leader on sustainable construction projects and has greatly contributed to our certified passive house projects’ success.
Education
Andrew is a graduate of the Vermont Technical College, where he earned a B.S. in Sustainable Design and Technology – Green Buildings, as well as an A.S. in Construction Practice and Management. During his time at VTC, he completed an internship with Earthwatch Research Project in Costa Rica. Drawing from his experience and personal motivation, he also worked to help others as a mentor through TREO for his alma mater, Vermont Technical College.
Background
Andrew enjoys travel and has spent time in Costa Rica, France, Spain, and England. Additionally, he has worked with the Essex Community Players in multiple capacities, including spending time on the Board of Directors, as Set Crew Chief, and with sound and lighting design. He is also an avid bowler and has participated in a men’s league for the last five years.
